The Buying Process
As with most things in life, the best way to approach buying real estate is to be prepared. From the very begining stages of the process through the transfer of title, we will be your guide (along with a few other important people).
To start, we recommend contacting an agent in our office. We work with many lending institutions and would be happy to refer you to those that we fully trust to service your needs.
Once you have contacted the lender you want to work with, they will ask you for some financial information. This helps them calculate how much you can afford for a mortgage (they call this a preapproval). Once you are preapproved, the home searching can begin!
Note: It is better to be preapproved prior to searching for a home than to find a home you love and realize you can't afford it.
An important thing to remember is that every buyers situation is different. One buyer may have to sell a home prior to buying another one; another buyer may be purchasing his/her very first home. One buyer may be looking for land to purchase in order to build his/her dream home; another buyer may be looking to purchase a multi-family home for investment purposes.
